Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account and identity information: phone number, name, date of birth, address, profile photo, and account identifiers.
• Driver verification information: driving licence details and images, identification documents or verification photos, and related verification information.
• Vehicle information: vehicle type, brand, colour, year, registration number, registration documents, and vehicle photographs.
• Location information: precise or approximate device location while using driver, navigation, online availability, pickup, trip, and related location features. Where background location functionality is enabled and permitted, location may also be processed while the app is not in the foreground to support active driver/trip functionality.
• Trip information: trip request identifiers, pickup and destination information, ride status, distance, duration, fare information, timestamps, and trip history.
• Device and notification information: device identifiers used by Firebase services, push-notification tokens, app version, and technical information required to operate and secure the service.
• Driver activity information: online/offline sessions, completed trips, ratings, and earnings-related records used by the app.

2. How we use information

• create and authenticate driver accounts;
• verify driver identity, documents, and vehicle information;
• show nearby trip opportunities and assign trips;
• provide pickup, navigation, live trip, and location-based functionality;
• calculate, display, and record trip and earnings information;
• send trip alerts, service messages, and other operational notifications;
• prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate accounts, and unauthorised access;
• maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Whizz Driver; and
• comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.

3. Services that process data

Whizz Driver uses service providers needed to operate the app. These may include:

• Google Firebase for authentication, realtime database functionality, cloud data storage, notifications, and related backend services.
• Google Maps Platform for maps, location, routing, geocoding, navigation-related information, and place services where used.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy terms and applicable contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

4. Permissions

Whizz Driver may request device permissions such as location, camera, photos/media, and notifications. These permissions are used only for the app features that require them, such as driver verification, vehicle/document uploads, trip matching, navigation, and trip alerts. You can control device permissions through your device settings, although disabling a required permission may prevent some features from working.

5. Data storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including authenticated access controls and encrypted network connections provided by the platforms and services used by Whizz Driver. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

6. Data retention

We retain account and operational data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Whizz Driver, maintain security and trip records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal or regulatory requirements. When information is no longer required for these purposes, it will be deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable.

7. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your Whizz Driver account and associated personal data. Where deletion is requested, we will delete or anonymise data associated with the account except information that must be retained for legitimate reasons such as fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or legal and regulatory compliance.

Account deletion instructions are available at Delete your Whizz Driver account. A deletion option or deletion-request link should also be made available from within the Whizz Driver app.

8. Data sharing

We may share only the information necessary to operate a trip or the service. For example, selected driver information may be shown to a rider after a trip is accepted, and necessary rider/trip information may be shown to the assigned driver. We may also disclose information to service providers acting on our behalf, or where required by law, safety, fraud-prevention, or legal process.

9. Children's privacy

Whizz Driver is intended for authorised drivers and is not directed to children. Driver eligibility is subject to applicable age, licensing, and local requirements.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Whizz Driver changes. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
